England 1935, Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) is a girl who loves to write plays, reading and wandering in his fervid imagination. He has one sister more, Cecilia (Keira Knigthley) and a jaunty little 'rebel. Briony observes from a distance, hit by the boredom of a comfortable life, the report of an unusual friendship between Cecilia and Robbie Turner (James McAvoy), the housekeeper's son, equivocating and changing that relationship into something outrageous.
