Baarìa

Starring an ensemble cast, the film opened the 66th Venice International Film Festival in Venice.
Bagheria, a small Sicilian town is the place where the whole film takes place. Town steeped in culture and superstitions colors. And 'The history of the family Peppino Torrenuova (Francesco Scianna) called by all "Peppino the communist" has always been fascinated by politics and who falls in love with the beautiful Mannina (Margaret made) despite the opposition of her family and a fuitina not quite normal. The film tells the story from the world wars, to get to fascism and communism and socialism with references to the mafia. Tornatore Bagheria wants us back in the past where there was the importance of family and work and commitment in policy and dialect, in fact the whole movie is spoken in Sicilian dialect. What we perceive is looking Baarìa a sort of magic spell that allows you to watch the film with his dreamy eyes of Tornatore's film His life belongs to him more than anyone who speaks of his beloved land. The main locations were just Bagheria, but other scenes in a Bagheria rebuilt in Tunis. We find a rich cast of actors including, Giancarlo Giannini, Giorgio Faletti, Leo Gullotta, Raoul Bova, Beppe Fiorello, Luigi Lo Cascio and many others. Tornatore has justified the presence of so many players saying that he preferred to give the protagonist of two lesser-known actors and the many cameos to keep the most famous actors in order to give greater interest to the whole season with the wonderful music of Ennio Morricone , with scenes from the race, covering the child and the villagers, the war was over run to pick up furniture and doors, to have a relic of war. Tornatore wants to make a good movie and to literally dream his audience. With Baarìa it seems goal achieved.

We would like to embrace the world, but we have the arms are too short.
